| Ballistics and forensic science are commonly used for gunshot residue analysis, where particles are analyzed from the firearm, bullet, the shooter’s hand, and nearby elements present at a crime scene.
Forensic Analytical’s Forensic Science Division performs ballistics and forensic science using a state-of-the-art scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energy dispersive x-ray analyzer (SEM-EDs). The SEM allows for the determination of shape and size, while the EDS documents the elemental composition of the particles. Our automated SEM-EDS system helps ensure the timely and accurate reporting of data.
Our highly trained and seasoned criminalists are experienced in all aspects of ballistics and forensic science. They can provide consultative service in the areas of sample collection, analysis and interpretation. These services allow and assist attorneys to effectively present GSR evidence in a given case.
